The law and its timing
Filed under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act (MCL 15.231 et seq.). Michigan's FOIA gives a public body 5 business days after it receives a request to respond, and allows one extension of up to 10 business days (MCL 15.235(2)). This site counts every request the same way, in business days from filing, and does not decide whether a deadline was missed.Timeline
