Florida Attorney General's exchanges with USCIS on certificates of non-existence
This request asks the Florida Office of the Attorney General, including the Office of Statewide Prosecution, for its communications with USCIS from January 1, 2025 about certificates of non-existence (Form G-1566) and about getting USCIS records, including A-files, for state prosecutions or immigration enforcement; any agreement or written procedure for getting those records; and records showing how many it asked for or received.
Why it matters
Under USCIS's April 2026 Federal Register notice, a certificate of non-existence is issued only when USCIS finds no immigration records about the person named. This is the state's side of IRW-117 and IRW-122. Together they would show whether and how often Florida's Attorney General asks USCIS for these certificates or for immigration files, and on what terms.

The law and its timing
Filed under Florida's public records law (Article I, section 24 of the Florida Constitution; chapter 119, Florida Statutes). Florida's public records law sets no fixed number of days. It requires the records custodian to acknowledge a request promptly and respond in good faith (section 119.07(1)(c), Florida Statutes). This site counts every request the same way, in business days from filing, and does not decide whether a deadline was missed.Timeline
